Function / Content

This series consists of photographs donated to, or collected by the Historical Society of the Northern Territory (the majority from a bequest by Mrs Margaret Widdup). The photographs primarily black and white photographs, with some coloured photographs, postcards, proof-sheets and photocopies. There are multiple copies of some photographs (some with different descriptions). The photographs are separately enclosed in polyester sleeves, with a backing page containing descriptive information such as title, subject, keywords, description, date, size and donor information. The Historical Society created a computer index to this collection which allows searching by subject, main heading, date and donor.
